GB 6675-2003 is established according to the series of ISO 8124, which prescribes the requirements of toy’s mechanical and physical properties, flammability, migration of certain elements and directions for use. The annex A to GB 6675-2003, whose technical content adopted ISO 8124-1:2000 (IDT, excludes the AI and A2 published in 2007) by equation, prescribes the technical requirements and test methods of toys . Because of the publication of ISO 8124-1:2009 and ASTM F 963:2011, an emendation of GB 6675-2003 has started.

GB 6675-2003 specifies safety-labels guidelines and manufacturer’s markings; the different requirements and test methods of toys intended for use by children in various age groups from birth to 14 years; the acceptable criteria for structural characteristics of toys, such as shape, size, contour, spacing as well as acceptable criteria for properties peculiar to certain categories of toy (e.g. maximum kinetic energy values for non-resilient-tipped projectiles).
It is notable that the safety requirements of  electric toys are regulated by GB 19865-2005 after it became into effect in 2006, which substituted the annex A.A to GB 6675-2003.
